HEERLEN, August 2013 – The Object Management Group (OMG) is the biggest and best-known non-profit organization in the field of establishing and further developing various knowledge and ICT world standards. The OMG was founded in 1989 and has more than 300 members, including a wide range of leading companies such as IBM, Oracle, SAP, Boeing, Daimler, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Citigroup and AT&T.

Since 2008, PNA has been applying its specific cogNIAM® expertise to establishing and developing the world standards BPMN 2.0 and SBVR.

On 1 July 2013, this partnership led the OMG to appoint PNA’s Maurice Nijssen, Serge Gouders and Bas van de Laar ‘OMG Representatives’ for Europe. Maurice Nijssen, PNA’s CEO, will personally commit to putting the OMG more firmly on the map in Europe. “We think it’s a great honor that the OMG has asked us to champion their interests in Europe. The OMG network is perfect for getting in touch with international experts and discussing practical and sector-related developments.”

The OMG standardization process is fast, transparent and effective. Every organization, large or small, can join. Members help actively in the establishment of future standards and have a say in deciding the content of these standards. Every member, irrespective of the size of the organization, is entitled to vote and can therefore make a real difference. The OMG has various forms of membership ranging from ‘domain member’ (for the financial, medical or technology sectors, for example) to ‘platform member’ (focused on technical or data standards, for instance).
